LAST CHARGE OF THE LIGHT HORSE www.lastcharge.com

Light Horse leader Jean-Paul Vest spent years paying his dues playing everything from alt-country to power pop to provincial French folk music, and his diverse influences all play a subtle part in the sound of the band. Joined by A.J. Riegger on bass and newcomer Jimmy Romanelli on drums, Vest delivers sharply crafted rock songs graced by lyrics that mix an emotionally naked, bottom-of-the-bottle honesty with a heady poeticism.
Critics praised their 2005 debut album “Getaway Car” as “completely original and riveting,” calling it “a rare disc that creates something original out of the traditional.” Jason Warburg of the Daily Vault named it the best independent release of 2005, calling it a “masterpiece.”
Their song "The Second Time Around" appeared on the fall 2007 PBS television series Roadtrip Nation.
Their second disc, Fractures, was released in May of 2008. Once again, reviewers were quick to praise it, saying that Fractures "hits like a target-locked cruise missile" and "somehow manages to top the previous release."

FEATURED PERFORMANCE BY: WHO ARE THOSE GUYS at 9pm

OPEN MIC BEFORE & AFTER
Black Box Mini Fest:
ACOUSTIC OPEN MIC HOSTED BY SCOTTE., FREE COFFEE & MORE

WHO ARE THOSE GUYS www.whoarethoseguys.com

The Who Are Those Guys sound has been compared to The Band, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Dylan and Creedence. Their music is a mix of rock, blues, folk and country with a classic sound that's all their own.

The members include brothers Marty and Doug Attridge, Jim Gorman, Tom Daly, Pat Petrosini and Lindsay Reeve.

A CDbaby.com review called Who Are Those Guys....."The rightful heirs to Big Pink.... From the innate pop sensibilities of the 60's sounding Blue Skies to the surf sound of Surfin' with Neil, and the cry in your beer country twang of Up All Night. These guys play new music with a classic vibe. Very Groovy!".

June 2007 brought the release of their newest CD, the self titled WATG. Fourteen songs that show the continued growth and diversity of the Attridge brothers writing skills, as well as the band's musicianship.  Other titles in the Who Are Those Guys library include; 2004's 25th Anniversary Edition, 2002's Welcome to Downville and 1998's GRAZE.

Their song "If You Ain't Got The Money" recently aired on the CBS TV series Without A Trace and is also featured in the newly released films "Dear Mr Gacy" (from the producers of the Academy award winning film "Monster") and "The Last Harbor" starring Wade Williams of  the TV show "Prison Break".

The music of Who Are Those Guys can be heard on radio stations throughout the NY-Metro area. Several WATG songs have charted in the Top Ten on Broadjam.com. Their music and CDs are available at  i-Tunes, Cdbaby.com, Amazon.com, Broadjam.com, Walmart.com and many other internet music providers.

Main Stage:
FEATURED PERFORMANCE BY: MILES TO DAYTON at 9pm

OPEN MIC BEFORE & AFTER
Black Box Mini Fest:

ACOUSTIC OPEN MIC HOSTED BY SCOTTE., FREE COFFEE & MORE

MILES TO DAYTON  www.milestodayton.net

With a well-crafted mix of folk, rock, classical and funk, this Long Island based ensemble brings an honest message of love, life and laughter to each performance. The M2D recipe is simple: four-part vocal harmony textures, solid songwriting, improvisational violin and cello, and an infectious rhythm section that stirs up the creative stew. The family chemistry adds to the onstage fun, while the unique instrumentation truly delivers an eclectic sound portrait, with a comfortable, down-home vibe in all of the songs and presentation. Miles to Dayton will leave a lasting impression on your ears, relying on quality musicianship and a melody that will carry you back to the next show.

The band features the talents of vocalist Krista (March) Preddice, often compared to the likes of Natalie Merchant and Dolores O'Riordan. Accomplished songwriter Jonathan Preddice also shares lead vocal duty, and plays guitar and cello in the band. Dave March adds to the package by delivering pocket bass lines and heartfelt vocals. Violinist Leanne (Preddice) Strom wields her violin with extreme presence and maturity, using her classical upbringing to add many interesting colors and textures to the m2d ensemble. Newcomer drummer Brian Kroll has only elevated this family band to new heights, providing an exciting and funky edge to the overall sound, while lifting the songs up on a pedestal for all to enjoy. With the successful release of two independent full length albums in the past five years, "A long way back" (2005) and "Rise" (2007), Miles to Dayton has developed a strong regional following. With a newly bolstered lineup, the band has set it sights on releasing a third album in 2010 that will promises to be it's finest work to date.

John Platt, WFUV Radio said that "Martha Trachtenberg and Tom Griffith are longtime Long Island favorites.... especially if you like good songs with great harmonies."

BLACK BOX ACOUSTIC STAGE MC & HOST: ScottE
www.myspace.com/scottehop

Born and raised on Eastern L.I., ScottE began playing drums at the age of 10. Influenced by his father,  a folk singer who had a knack for getting everyone in the house to dance, ScottE naturally gravitated towards the spare guitars around the house and taught himself to play by jamming with his father.
Today ScottE performs locally across Long Island and enjoys spending time raising his family. He frequents many jam nights and hosts his own on the black box acoustic stage, at the monthly songwriters showcase and open mic ORIGINAL VOICES at the Vail, held on the third Thursday of every month at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall in Riverhead.

MANAGER & BOOKING: JESSIE HAYNES

Singer, songwriter & guitarist Jessie Haynes is the founder & organizer for Original Voices at the Vail. With experience as an independent artist, hired gun for Blackmore's Night, lead guitarist for the all female rock band, Sweet Little Sister, and songwriter & collaborator with countless musicians, Ms. Haynes enjoys bringing many talented up and coming featured artists to the Vail's stage on a monthly basis at OVaV. She was invited to spend a summer managing the musical production of young new acts for Famous Artists Management in Manhattan in 2000. In 2007 she released a self produced CD entitled "The Secret Life of Cinderella." 2008 has brought a new release by Richard Gilks, The American Heritage, (KPM) which Jessie made a guest background vocal appearances on, and is available for television & movie use through KPM. Jessie Haynes/The Vail Leavitt Music Hall

imageJessie Haynes has spent her life playing music across the east and west coasts, and occasionally internationally as well. Lately she’s made a home for herself on the east end, heading up a concert series at a beautiful old restored theater in Riverhead. The Vail Leavitt Music Hall is an antique theater run entirely by volunteers, which may just have a ghost or two amongst its velvet curtains and balconies. Jessie feels like her involvement with the Vail has a measure of fate in it. click here for full article...
